Murad Ali Shah chaired a meeting on the weather emergency and gave the order to put all local government agencies, hospitals, and bodies on high alert.

Due to the likelihood of rain, the committee also decided to implement a half-day schedule for all public and private institutions in Karachi tomorrow, Friday.

Shah remarked, “People are asked to refrain from leaving their homes unnecessarily.” He stated, “Rainfall is expected in Karachi by 2:00 pm.” “Tomorrow, the city will experience three to four periods of precipitation,” he stated.

“We need to ensure that we are fully prepared for any rainfall warning,” stated the chief minister.

Salman Shah, the Director General of the Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), informed the prime minister. A PDMA officer stated, “Shahrah-e-Faisal in Karachi comes under water pressure in rainfall.”

The Chief Minister also gave the DIG Traffic instructions to guarantee improved traffic management in the city.

The Met Office has predicted wind or thunderstorms along with heavy rainfall across the majority of Sindh’s districts, including Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Karachi, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, and Larkana. On February 29 and March 1, Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Khairpur, and Mirpurkhas. There’s also a chance of an isolated hailstorm at that time.

Rain-related accidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resulted in 10 fatalities and 12 injuries, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Wednesday.

As per a representative from the PDMA, DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia has given directives to the Deputy Commissioners around the province to stay vigilant.

Kathia advised that the relevant departments should remain vigilant in order to effectively handle any potential emergency situation.

All district emergency operation centres, as well as the provincial control room, have been notified.

The PDMA control room is continuously monitored around the clock. According to him, Rescue 1122 and other rescue services should ensure that their machinery and staff remain vigilant.

DG Irfan Ali Kathia emphasised the importance of citizens exercising caution and maintaining a safe distance from electric poles and dangling wires.

Seek shelter in secure locations to minimise the risk of being struck by lightning. Avoid being exposed to the elements during thunderstorms and inclement weather.

He emphasised the importance of exercising caution with children and preventing them from accessing water that accumulates in low-lying regions. Additionally, he advised individuals to refrain from nonessential travel and to drive at a reduced speed.
