PMD forecasts rain throughout the majority of the nation.

During the next 24 hours (Thursday–Friday), the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain, windstorms, thunderstorms, and a few torrential downpours or hailstorms throughout the majority of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, and Balochistan.

In several areas of Sindh, a rain-windstorm/thunderstorm is anticipated. Much of Balochistan is being hit by a powerful westerly wave trough, which is expected to spread to the top regions by April 18.

Prolonged downpours have the potential to cause flash flooding in Balochistani local streams and drains, particularly in Gwadar, Jiwani, Pasni, Ormara, Kech, Awaran, Kharan, Panjgur, Washuk, Noshki, Lasbela, Khuzdar, and Kalat.

On April 18–20, heavy rains could cause flash floods in tributaries of the Kabul River as well as in Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, Manshera, Gilgit–Baltistan, Kashmir, and other areas.

Lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan are among the regions where landslides may occur.

At this time, standing crops, power poles, cars, solar panels, and other objects may sustain damage from wind, hail, and lightning, according to meteorologists.

Upper Sindh and Balochistan saw rain, wind, and thunderstorms in the past 24 hours. During the era, there were also significant rainfalls in South Balochistan. Wednesday’s highs of 42 degrees Celsius in Mithi kept it as the country’s hottest spot.

Officials reported that lightning-related storm-related occurrences claimed the lives of at least 65 people in Pakistan, where the rate of precipitation in April has so far been roughly twice that of previous years. Floods and house collapses were caused by heavy downpours that occurred between Friday and Monday. Lightning claimed 28 lives.

32 people, including 15 children, have killed and over 1,300 homes have been damaged in northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which has suffered the greatest victim count.

The meteorological experts report that there is little probability of rain, despite the fact that drizzle fell in numerous areas of Karachi.

Additionally, linked devices will now have access to the conversation lock feature. Users of WhatsApp will also soon have the option to tag their contacts in status updates.

Notably, WhatsApp users can link their devices to log in to the same account on different devices. However, several functions, such as conversation locks and status updates, are not accessible on the secondary devices.

Even if they are locked on the main conversations, anybody can still access your private chats on a connected device. WhatsApp is currently working on adding Chat Lock capability to connected devices in order to address this.

The chat lock feature on WhatsApp will soon be available on connected devices.

Prior to this, it was claimed that WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, was developing new personalisation options for an iOS beta.

According to WABetaInfo, an update tracker portal for the instant messaging network, WhatsApp for iOS users will soon get the option to modify both the conversation bubble’s colour and the app’s primary colour scheme.

A feature that let beta testers choose the primary colour scheme of the WhatsApp iOS app from a selection of five colours was first tested back in January.

The instant messaging app is testing a feature that lets users change the colour of chat bubbles within conversations, though, in a new beta edition.

Report submitted by AGP to IHC on case of missing Baloch students

The implementation case pertaining to the commission’s recommendations for finding the missing Baloch students was heard by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani.

Hadi Ali Chattha and Imaan Zainab Mazari made an appearance as the missing Baloch students’ attorneys.

Inquiring about the number of terrorism cases against Baloch students in the previous ten years, Justice Kayani heard the case. The bench asked, “How many students were harassed, arrested, or disappeared?”

The AGP stated that “some progress” has been achieved on the matter and that the intelligence services could not harass any citizens. The bench questioned, “Now you will summon secret agencies to police station.” “No, sir,” the AGP replied.

“We just want to stop acts against the law; no one questions their ability to operate under the law,” the court declared.

“Knowing the agencies’ operational procedures will be beneficial. According to the legislation, the FIA and police could conduct investigations, and the agencies support them in doing so, according to Justice Mohsin Akhtar. He went on, “We have to operate inside the legal system.

The bench noted that “no Pakistani journalist or parliamentarian supports terrorists, no one obstructs state entities from operating legally.”

According to the Attorney General, the case will not be settled until it is settled politically. Justice Kayani remarked, “It means they accept it as a political issue, we don’t have to invite them from outside to decide the matter.” The Judge noted, “Mistakes used to happen and we have to move forward while learning from mistakes.”

Judge Kayani informed the AGP, “It is the 21st hearing, and several students have been recovered with your hard work.”

“Our economy has declined so much,” Attorney General Mansoor Awan remarked, implying that the state ought to have shown compassion.

Judge Kayani remarked, “How could the domestic or international investors will invest in these circumstances.”

AGP pleaded the court, “We have done much work in missing persons’ cases; remaining will also be completed; give us some time.” He continued, “Political solutions are also being sought.”

The attorney for the petitioner claimed that no information was given to the relatives of the missing people. Justice Kayani said, “Do you think the information given to the court has not been correct?”

The bench said, “The AGP’s efforts in this case are commendable; thanks to him, several missing persons have returned to their homes.”

“Courts will keep operating as long as matters involving missing persons are brought before them. Justice Kayani stated, “No one case will conclude with a court ruling.

The Attorney General announced that the topic of missing persons will be discussed during the upcoming two cabinet sessions. “For easy coordination, the committee should be composed of officers below the DIG level,” questioned AGP.

“I am delivering an order; observe it,” the bench informed Imaan Mazari and the AGP.

The case’s hearing was subsequently postponed by the court until June 14.
