Significant changes have occurred within the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) since the appointment of an Acting Director General (DG).

Among the proposed modifications is the rotation of Chief Operating Officers (COOs) at different airports across the country.

There are also hints of upcoming senior officer appointments and transfers at the CAA headquarters in Karachi.

These changes occur during a transition phase following the transfer of Khaqan Murtaza, the previous DGCAA, to the chairperson of the Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), as announced by the federal government.

With these developments, Pakistan’s aviation sector expects a shift in leadership and organizational dynamics within the Civil Aviation Authority.

The federal government announced last week that Khaqan Murtaza would be transferred from the Director General (DG) of Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Following agreement from the Federal Cabinet, the Establishment Division announced Khaqan Murtaza’s transfer and appointed him chairman of the Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI).

Saif Anjum, the Secretary of Aviation, was given the additional charge of DGCAA, according to the notice.

It is worth noting that Khaqan Murtaza was named DG-CAA during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

According to the plaintiff’s request, Maryam Nawaz wore a police officer’s uniform, which is ‘unlawful’. The plea stated that no one may wear the uniform of state institutions in accordance with the law.

Reportedly, the police report claimed that because of possible security risks and the recent upsurge in terrorist activity in the city, the authorization to have a public meeting was refused.

The police warned against allowing PTI to host a public meeting in a report to the district commissioner, citing the port city’s vulnerability to potential terrorist attacks.

Notably, the PTI’s application for permission to stage a power show at Bagh-e-Jinnah, Karachi, is scheduled to be heard by the Sindh High Court today.

The public meeting of the Pakistan Teheek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Sindh, which was originally set on May 5, has been delayed, according to Haleem Adil Sheikh.

According to a statement from Haleem Adil Sheikh, the decision to reschedule the public gathering was made during the party’s political committee meeting. The public meeting of the PTI, he announced, would now take place on May 5, instead of April 28, next to Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum.
