The Supreme Court has issued a directive for a new election to be held in PB-50 Balochistan.

The Supreme Court considered the case submitted by Zamrik Khan, which contested the order issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan.

At the beginning of the hearing, the Supreme Court invalidated the Election Commission of Pakistan’s order for a recount in PB-50 Balochistan.

The supreme court further instructed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to guarantee a fair and open election in accordance with the constitution of Pakistan.
The Election Commission has withheld the victory notification of the ANP candidate from Balochistan Assembly Constituency PB-50 Qila Abdullah. They have also ordered re-polling at 6.
The motion, filed by citizen Mian Shabbir Ahmed through his lawyer Azhar Siddique at the Supreme Court’s Lahore registry, requests a judicial commission to investigate the claims of rigging.
