The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) requested a postponement from the court in order to present a report about the Toshakhana automobiles issue.
Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the Islamabad Accountability Court presided over the case involving President Asif Ali Zardari, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Yusuf Raza Gilani, and other individuals.
During the court proceedings, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) requested further time to present the report. During the hearing, NAB Prosecutor Azhar Maqbool Shah stated that Nawaz Sharif had expressed his desire to participate in the probe and had made a formal request to the Bureau.
“Sharif underwent an investigation.” Currently, our investigative officers are unavailable. “Shah informed the court that a report will be submitted based on the investigation to determine if the case can be prosecuted or not.”
The prosecutor from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) sought the court to allow them additional time till the next hearing in order to submit the report. The court deferred the hearing of the case to April 17 in order to receive the report.
According to the reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau at the accountability court, Yusuf Raza Gilani, Co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), President Asif Zardari, and Nawaz Sharif, leader of the PML-N, were unlawfully given automobiles from Toshakhana.
