Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has reiterated support for initiatives that foster inclusive growth, sustainable development, and community welfare.

He also advocated for enabling the private sector to take the lead in promoting significant social effect while serving as the chair of the Prime Minister’s Committee on Social Effect Financing meeting in Islamabad.

The finance minister emphasized how important it is for the government to have a strong legal and policy foundation for social impact funding.

According to him, the private sector is already excelling in this area, so instead of building yet another government agency, we should concentrate on fostering an environment that supports it.

The government’s rightsizing goals are in line with this.

Muhammad Aurangzeb further stressed the importance of moving beyond charity to broader impact financing.

He said digital solutions must be integrated to ensure efficient systems, while accountability and impact evaluation will build trust and credibility among stakeholders.

In order to improve financial inclusion, boost social impact, and uplift Pakistan’s underprivileged communities, the workshop concentrated on developing creative financial solutions.

The participants discussed public-private partnerships, mixed funding strategies, and supporting microfinance programs. Proposals were made to ensure a comprehensive regulatory framework that encourages private sector innovation and safeguards investments.

The finance minister appreciated the commitment and contributions of all stakeholders and directed accelerated efforts to finalize the proposed policy framework.
