PTA says all iinternet services in Pakistan “have been restored to normal”.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority on Friday afternoon said that all internet services in Pakistan have been restored, hours after an outage was reported across the country.

“The technical fault in data networks which caused internet outage in Pakistan has been resolved,” read a press release issued by the authority.

PTA said that all internet services in Pakistan “have been restored to normal”.

Earlier in the day, the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd said that its optical fiber network is experiencing “technical faults” due to heavy rains and floods and assured subscribers work is underway to restore services.

“Due to heavy rains and floods, PTCL’s optical fiber network is experiencing some technical faults,” read a statement posted on Twitter.

“As a result, PTCL users in Northern and Central regions are facing internet outage,” the statement said, adding that teams are working to restore the services “on priority”.

Prior to PTCL’s statement, the PTA said internet connectivity problems have been reported by the PTCL and have been caused by an “issue” in data networks between the South and North regions.

“As reported by PTCL, issue has been reported in data networks between South and North which is causing internet connectivity issues,” the authority said.

Without elaborating any further on the nature of the problem at the time, PTA said that the “issue” is being investigated.

The statement added that the PTA is monitoring the situation and will keep users updated.

Internet services went down all over the country, Geo News reported Friday morning.

The outage included internet connections of private organisations, home users and offices in general.

In the Jacobabad District of Sindh, Soomro was born in 1926. He was a member of the Shikarpur-based Soomro family, who for a long time dominated Sindh. He was the brother of Ahmad Mian Soomro and the son of Maula Bakhsh Soomro. His degree is in engineering.

The federal minister is now Elahi Bakhsh Soomro. In 1985, he was elected without opposition to the national legislature.

He was elected as a Member of Parliament for the Pakistan Muslim League in the 1990 and 1997 elections. Additionally, he was repeatedly elected to the Senate at various points in time.

Petroleum Minister Musadik Malik stated that “Pakistan possesses extensive coal reserves, and this initiative demonstrates our dedication to the effective utilization of our natural resources.”

Pakistan now extracts roughly 7.6 million tons of coal annually from the Thar region, with intentions to augment this to 11 million tons within three years. The efficient utilization of these resources can stabilize the nation’s economy.
