According to information provided, Pervaiz Akhtar, a citizen, filed a case in the Sindh High Court claiming that Mirza Ikhtiar Baig is a citizen of Canada. His request to renounce his Canadian citizenship is currently pending.

Since it is against the law for a dual national to hold a NA seat, the complaint pleaded with the court to suspend his membership in the NA.

The PPP candidate’s attorney was instructed to appear at the next hearing on May 16 by the court, which also requested a response from Baig and the provincial and federal governments.
