Runway number 18 at Multan International Airport has been blocked for flight operations from February 22 until March 25 due to ongoing repairs.

Between five and nine in the morning, the runway will be off-limits to aircraft.

Should an emergency landing be declared, a runway will be made available right away.

Runway repair operations are suspended as of this writing, according the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

An effort to “smuggle” women abroad was thwarted last year at Multan International Airport thanks to steps taken by the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Immigration unit.

Four female passengers were scheduled to travel overseas, but according to FIA officials, they were all stopped and offloaded. According to the FIA, female passengers were being transported overseas for sexual purposes and without any form of hotel reservation.

The FIA staff member stated, “The travel agent arranged the visa and tickets for the female passengers.”

16-person “beggar family” headed for Saudi Arabia offloaded at Multan airport: FIA

At Multan International Airport, the Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) intervened and removed the family from the flight that was headed for Saudi Arabia on the grounds that they had been begging.

According to reports, 16 travelers—including a baby—obtained visas for Umrah. According to the FIA, three travel agencies had planned their lodging and meals in Saudi Arabia. It was discovered that the agent should get half of the alms the family would receive.

A spokesman for the FIA stated that all family members are the subject of a case.
