Islamabad, DC, is sentenced to six months in prison for defamatory remarks.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday sentenced Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon to six months in prison after finding that he had committed contempt of court.

The deputy commissioner’s maintenance of public order (MPO) against PTI politician Shehryar Afridi was declared unlawful by the court. However, Saddar SP was cleared of all allegations by the IHC.

The court fined SSP operations Rs0.1 million and sentenced them to four months in jail.

In addition, the court declared that the punishment would be deferred for one month. In addition to fining SHO Nasir Manzoor Rs 0.1 million, the court also condemned him to two months in prison.

The court additionally declared that if an appeal is filed within 30 days and the deputy commissioner’s sentence is not suspended,
