Govt announces public holidays for 2023

  • 16 public and 22 optional holidays in 2023
  • Two out of the 16 public holidays in 2023 fall on Sundays
  • Islamic holidays subject to the appearance of the moon 

The Cabinet Division on Monday issued the notification for public and optional holidays for 2023.  

The Public and Optional Holidays regarding the Muslim and minorities festival in Pakistan for 2023 would be as under:-

In the case of Muslim festivals, the dates of holidays are based on anticipated dates. They are subject to the moon’s appearance, for which the Cabinet Division will issue a separate notification.

IBO in Dera Ismail Khan District: Armed Forces Remove Renowned Terrorist

Security forces carried out an intelligence-driven operation in the Dera Ismail Khan District. During the operation, there was a fierce gunfight between the own troops and terrorists, which resulted in the extermination of terrorist Muhammad Sohail, who continued to actively engage in terrorist acts against law enforcement agencies and the targeted killing of innocent civilians. A sanitization operation is currently underway in the area to eradicate any additional terrorists that may have been discovered there. The local community has expressed gratitude for the operation and their unwavering support in the fight against terrorism.
