Fathers Day: Video of Dua Zahra’s father sobbing goes viral

On Father’s Day, several videos and photographs relating to gifts and wishes went viral, as did a video of Dua Zahra’s father, Mehdi Kazmi’s, crying while missing his daughter.

In the viral footage, Dua’s father is seen sobbing on a couch. After the video went viral, several comments and messages circulated on social media for the grieving father.

Social media users hoped Zahra and her parents will meet after the video went viral.

Actress Yumna Zaidi also posted a photo of Mehdi Kazmi and wished him a Happy Father’s Day, and praised him for ‘being a great father.’

On June 8, the Sindh High Court issued a written order in the matter of Dua Zahra, allowing her to choose with whom she wants to reside.

After the safety review board meeting, DG CAA Murtaza said EASA may lift Pakistan restrictions.

He said PIA flights to Europe and the UK will restart after a long gap.

EASA visited Pakistan in November 2023 to evaluate the CAA and PIA’s license, flight safety, flight standards, and airworthiness.

After a May 2020 PIA plane disaster in Karachi, EASA banned the national flag carrier’s flights.

EASA wrote to the national flag carrier that they had suspended PIA’s Third Country Operator (TCO) Authorisation after it failed to comply with the specified corrective action plans.

PIA authorities discussed six findings in June and September 2019, and five action plans were implemented, while one Safety Management System aspect was not.

Nanbais attack: Rawalpindi tandoors sealed

After Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz lowered naan and roti rates, Nanbais clashed with the government.

All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran proclaimed a Punjab and Islamabad nanbai curfew on Wednesday.

Gujjar Khan, Jatli, Kallar Syedan, and Taxila have shuttered tandoors. Bread-hungry people have moved to bakeries.

Additionally, the Rawalpindi district administration has seized dozens of tandoors and filed lawsuits against their proprietors.

Ajmal Baloch, president of All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran, declared the strike by calling for the release of dozens of nanbais arrested across the province.

Baloch criticised the Punjab government for closing one labor firm to help another.

He believed the government could not solve the masses’ problems with force.

Traders’ leader said naan cost Rs20 but wheat bags cost Rs10,000. A Rs2,000 flour bag price rise raised the naan price to Rs25.

SC investigated IHC judges’ letter

According to reports, the Islamabad High Court Bar begged the top court to investigate the letter disaster transparently and punish individuals who disrespected IHC justices.

The plea said only a free judiciary can serve justice, therefore compromising it is never acceptable.

IHC justices’ letter alleging intelligence agency influence in court affairs was taken suo moto notice by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa on April 1.

Following Supreme Court’s March 22 ruling on Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui’s dismissal, IHC top judges Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani, Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, Baqir Sattar, Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan, Arbab Muhammad Tahir, and Salman Rafat Imtiaz wrote the letter to SJC.

The top judges wrote to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) about a judge’s duty to report and respond to “incidents on part of members of the executive, including operatives of intelligence agencies, that seek to interfere with discharge of his/her official functions and qualify as intimidation”.

CJP Qazi Faez Isa hinted at a full court on the next hearing of the IHC judges’ claims in the maiden hearing on April 3.

Early in the hearing, CJP Isa ordered the attorney general to present the press release from the full court meeting.
