According to the information provided, the court has approved the release on bail of the three individuals, Muhammad Nadeem, Adil Sarwar, and Al Tamash Saqlain. This approval is contingent upon each of them providing surety bonds valued at Rs 1 lac.

The anti-terrorism court has recently transferred the three individuals, who were engaged in the harassment of a woman wearing a dress adorned with Arabic calligraphy print in Ichhra Bazar, to the police for a 3-day physical remand.

It is important to note that the event occurred a few weeks ago, and the Ichhra police filed a First Information Report (FIR) against numerous identifiable and anonymous individuals, including those who sang religious chants that threatened the woman’s life.

A furious crowd assembled outside a store in Lahore’s Ichhra Bazar following an accusation that a woman’s clothing bore printed Quranic passages. The woman, joined by her husband, sought shelter in a nearby shop.

According to eyewitnesses, the majority of individuals in the mob consisted of customers, visitors, or pedestrians. The garment traders, who provided refuge to the woman, were cognizant of the availability of calligraphy print in the market. However, despite the traders’ explanation, the enraged crowd persisted in accusing them of committing a “blasphemy” offense.

The woman’s outfit included the Arabic word “Halwa” emblazoned in Arabic script, which translates to “beautiful or sweet” in Arabic.

After being informed about the event, the Punjab Police, under the leadership of ASP Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi, promptly came to the location and apprehended the woman, rescuing her from the agitated mob.

The video tape depicted the girl seeking refuge inside a shop, visibly trembling with intense terror. A video posted by the Punjab police on X depicts the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) rescuing a woman from the marketplace, while a crowd in the background hurls verbal insults.
