ATC Jude Malik Ejaz Asif issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the newly elected chief minister, ordering the police to bring him to court on April 2.

The arrest warrants for Ali Amin Gandapur were issued in a case filed at the City Police Station.

Earlier in the day, the Peshawar High Court on Tuesday directed the federal government to produce information about cases involving Ali Amin Gandapur.

A division bench of the high court, consisting of Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Shakeel Alhmed, heard a petition from KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur requesting information of proceedings against him.

“This problem has not yet resolved?” Justice Shakeel Ahmed inquired. “Problems persist; we do not know the number of cases registered in Punjab,” attorney Arshad Ahmed stated.

“Get bail if you’re involved in any case in Punjab,” Justice Shakeel advised. “If they do not supply us with information, we will take legal action. They are not supplying us with case data, and nothing has been disclosed in writing so far,” Gandapur’s lawyer stated.

“There are two inquiries against him in D.I.Khan,” stated FIA Director Legal Abdul Rehman.

“He is the chief minister of the province, and the people of the province have put their trust in him,” Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim stated. “The people voted for him, and now he’s running the province,” Justice Ibrahim added.

“It’s improbable that you couldn’t give him information. “Provide the petitioner with details of the cases filed against him,” the bench said.

Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of KP denounced the incident on May 9 and promised that those in charge will face national scrutiny.

While eight FIRs have been filed against him in eight different districts, Gandapur stressed that none of the accusations have been validated.

Proving he was going nowhere without a fight, Gandapur issued a warning against tampering with democracy.

Any attempt to obstruct progress will be greeted with strong resistance, he warned, so avoid using disruptive tactics.

Gandapur declared, “We will seize the governor’s mansion and I will not keep quiet about the chief minister’s seat if governor law is imposed.”

With the media there to ensure transparency, the Chief Minister boldly challenged his predecessor, Pervez Khattak, to participate in a public discussion in the Kaaba.

A reserved decision on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder’s request was announced by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on September 15, 2023, which also overturned changes made to statutes pertaining to the National Accountability Bureau.

The plea will be considered on May 14 by a five-member bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Justice Qazi Faez Isa.

Among the other members of the bench are Justices Hassan Azhar, Jamal Mandokhail, Athar Minallah, and Amin-Ud-Din Khan. Served to the respondents are notices for May 14 from the SC registrar’s office.

PTI founder, National Accountability Bureau, and Federation of Pakistan were named respondents in the federal government’s review plea filed under the SC Practice and Procedure Law in the NAB modifications case.
The federal government begged the SC to overturn its ruling in the case, citing no indication that the NAB modifications violated anyone’s fundamental rights. The argument asserted that “legislation is the Parliament’s right.”

The Supreme Court of Pakistan granted the appeal filed by Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), contesting changes made to the nation’s accountability legislation while the PDM-led government was in power, with a majority vote of 2-1.

Following the changes to National Accountability Bureau legislation, the top court also revived graft proceedings against public office holders.
