‘Utterly repugnant’: Pakistan strongly condemns terrorist attack on Sikh temple in Kabul

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Saturday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a Sikh temple in Kabul, which has resulted in the loss of precious lives and injuries to many others while also causing destruction of property.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan is seriously concerned about the recent spate of terrorist attacks on places of worship in Afghanistan. 

“Yesterday, terrorists targeted the Imam Sahib Mosque in Kunduz, killing and injuring many worshippers. These acts of terrorism targeting religious places are utterly repugnant,” the statement read.

The Foreign Office further noted that Pakistan reiterates its condemnation of terrorism in all forms and manifestations. 

“We express strong solidarity with the people of Afghanistan and support all efforts of the Afghan authorities in fighting the menace of terrorism and ensuring the protection of all their citizens,” it stated.

Mild rain in Lahore improves the weather

Early on Friday, light rain in the province capital Lahore and its surrounding areas improved the weather.

But rain also led to power outages in several areas of Lahore, as multiple feeders of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) blew, leaving whole sections of the city without power.

Details show that rain was observed in a number of locations throughout the city, including Model Town, Gulberg, Garden Town, Mall Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Gulshan Ravi, Jail Road, and Sanda.

However, the Met Office has forecasted an additional day of rain for the city during the next 24.

The government will begin coordinated action against lawbreakers in the Katcha region

On Friday, Mohsin Naqvi, the interior minister, announced that the government would begin a coordinated operation in the Katcha region to eradicate the miscreants for good.

He stated that collaborative efforts in the Katcha region will make use of contemporary technologies, including drones.

According to Mohsin Naqvi, all security agencies, including the police, should make sure that SOPs are fully implemented in order to protect Chinese nationals living in Pakistan.

He declared that any carelessness in this respect will not be accepted at all while presiding over a meeting to review the National Action Plan’s implementation at NACTA headquarters in Islamabad.

According to Naqvi, failure to follow the SOPs for the safety of foreign nationals will result in severe disciplinary action.

“We have to outfit our departments with cutting-edge technology to eradicate terrorism,” stated the interior minister. He declared that the provinces will receive all the assistance from the federation in this area.

Anti-state forces will be permanently driven out of the Katcha region, according to Naqvi. The interior minister expressed satisfaction with the anti-smuggling operations and stated that all ministries need to make sure that smugglers face stern legal action.

COAS Asim Munir is called by the Saudi assistant minister of defense.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. Asim Munir was visited at GHQ by Saudi Arabia’s Assistant Defense Minister, Major General (Engineer) Talal Bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in a statement that topics of mutual interest and steps to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation, such as military training and defense production, were discussed during the discussion.

The COAS reaffirmed the army’s ongoing commitment to helping the Royal Saudi Land Forces develop their capabilities.

The dignitary in attendance expressed gratitude for the Pakistan Army’s valiant efforts in combating terrorism and for its significant contributions to maintaining peace and security in the region.

Additionally, the visiting dignitary took part in the GHQ 5th Meeting of Pakistan-KSA Defense Collaboration.

The event covered issues pertaining to regional and international security as well as how they affect the armed forces. Forum stated that defense industry collaboration in crucial capacities between the two fraternal nations is necessary due to the rapid improvements in modern technologies.

The determination of both parties to strengthen defense cooperation with a targeted strategy to target certain capabilities in the land, air, and sea domains was reaffirmed.

In this regard, the conference discussed specific recommendations in order to achieve measurable goals within the given timeframes.
