For the first Test match of the three-match series against England, leg-spinner Zahid Mahmood has been named by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to the squad.

October 7–11 is when the first Test is scheduled to take place in Multan; the preparation camp will start on October 1.

Zahid is scheduled to go to the team’s training camp in Multan. The team will be reduced to 15 players for the first Test on October 7.

Muhammad Ali and Kamran Ghulam will be reserve players in the interim, but they will still participate in domestic competitions.

“To stay match-ready, Kamran Ghulam and Mohammad Ali will continue to play domestic matches while on reserve,” the PCB stated in a statement.

“All three players are a part of the Pakistan Test team setup, but for cricketing and logistical reasons, 15 players will be plenty for the home Test series,” he continued.

The chosen players have been withdrawn from the Champions One-Day Cup playoffs in order to give them some rest ahead of the series, per head coach Jason Gillespie’s request and the team announcement.

Gillespie stated, “It makes sense to give our players some much-needed rest ahead of the Test series against England with a busy domestic and international cricket schedule.”

“The series versus England is something we are eagerly anticipating and can’t wait to start here in Pakistan. Playing in front of our amazing supporters makes us very happy,” he continued.

Team Pakistan for the opening Test match against England:

Chief executive Officer Shan Masood; Vice-Captain Saud Shakeel; Aamir Jamal; Abdullah Shafique; Abrar Ahmed; Babar Azam; Mir Hamza; Mohammad Huraira; Mohammad Rizwan; Naseem Shah; Noman Ali; Saim Ayub; Salman Ali Agha; Sarfaraz Ahmed; Shaheen Shah Afridi; Zahid Mahmood.

According to the Met Department, Islamabad and the surrounding areas will get partly overcast weather with a risk of rain.

There will be a brief break from the dry weather in some places due to light rain, a representative said.

Parts of Punjab, however, are probably going to continue to have fog and pollution. Heavy haze and fog are predicted in Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Multan, and Rahim Yar Khan, while major towns impacted include Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sialkot, Hafizabad, Narowal, and Gujranwala.

Because visibility may be poor in some places, residents and travelers have been warned to exercise caution.

With no notable change anticipated in the upcoming days, Sindh and Balochistan, on the other hand, are likely to continue to see hot and dry weather.

Ten grams of 24 carat gold also had a price decrease of Rs. 1,115, from Rs. 239,026 to Rs. 237,911, while ten kilos of 22 carat gold saw a rise in price from Rs. 219,107 to Rs. 218.085.

The cost of ten grams of silver and one tola of silver stayed at Rs. 2,829.21 and Rs. 3,300, respectively.

As stated by the Association, the price of gold fell $13 to $2,670 on the global market.

On Monday, November 11, 24-karat gold prices fell to 3,771 Saudi Riyals (SAR) per tola in Saudi Arabia.

The price of 24-kar gold is SAR 10,067 per ounce, while 10 grams of the metal are being sold for SAR 3,237 in the kingdom, according to forex.pk.

Note: Since the prices were updated at 10:15 am on November 11, 2024, there may be some discrepancies in this post due to the dynamic nature of the gold market globally, especially in Saudi Arabia.

As the markets anticipate the Federal Reserve to take a cautious stance under U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s administration, gold prices fell for a second session on Monday due to a stronger dollar and heightened risk appetite.

As of 09:27 GMT, spot gold was down 0.6% to $2,666.48 an ounce. The price of US gold futures dropped 0.8% to $2,673.20.

“A stronger U.S. dollar, rising Treasury yields, and increased risk appetite in financial markets are the main reasons why gold prices have declined — a trend that has gained momentum since Donald Trump’s victory in last week’s presidential election,” said Ricardo Evangelista, senior analyst at ActivTrades.
