Bajwa, Faiz facilitated Imran Khan until Nov 28: Rana Sanaullah

  • Minister says Gen Bajwa supported Imran Khan until retirement.
  • PTI chief launched long march against govt on someone’s advice.
  • It was all about appointment of new COAS, says Rana Sanaullah.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has accused former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa and ex-spymaster Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed of facilitating Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan untill November 28, 2022.

The minister also denied that General Bajwa was going to retire in November.

The minister endorsed a statement made by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice-President Maryam Nawaz who claimed, while addressing a rally on February 2, that her party’s [actual] rule commenced after November 28 as before this date, the PTI chief’s patrons were present.

“It is evident that General (retd) Bajwa and General (retd) Faiz Hameed had been facilitating Imran Khan until November 28, 2022, despite the fact that Shehbaz Sharif was prime minister and the cabinet was functional,” he said in Geo News programme ‘Naya Pakistan’ on Friday.

The minister said, “Khan has gone crazy as he has been denied any facilitation which was previously being provided to bring him on to the streets.” Backed by this “facilitation” he wanted to launch a long march and seize Islamabad, he said.

The PML-N leader asserted that there were people who loved him as their favourite, so he kept doing something or other until November 26. He asked Khan to explain how his government was formed and who was behind it.

Rana Sanaullah claimed that Imran Khan’s long march was all about the appointment of the new army chief and he attempted to destroy the institution to achieve his goals.

The federal minister raised questions about the motives behind the Imran Khan-led November 26 long march, which he believed was not just a protest.

The minister said Imran Khan’s adventures like the one on May 25 failed mainly due to the PML-N government in the Centre.

It should be mentioned here that former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa retired from the post on November 28, 2022. A few days later, former ISI chief Faiz Hameed also retired from the military voluntarily.

Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has threatened to storm Islamabad, according to Khawaja Saad Rafique, a former minister and leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). This is a very serious situation.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration has reportedly launched attacks on the federal capital in the past in an attempt to seize Islamabad, according to Saad Rafiq on the social media platform X (previously Twitter).

“However, PTI got nothing and it resulted in creating chaos, hatred and economic destruction,” he continued.

He added, “If the anarchists attack Islamabad to occupy it this time too, it will become impossible for them to return as rulers.”

According to the leader of the PML-N, fascist behavior will no longer be accepted, and the dirty politics of violence, fire, and ransacking will no longer be effective.

The PTI, he said, has to act rationally and refrain from inciting another May 9.
